Bauma is a renowned international trade fair for construction
machinery, building material and mining machines, construction
vehicles and equipment that is held every three years at Messe München.
The last event held in 2013 attracted a total of 3,420 exhibitors
(1,346 from Germany and 2,074 from abroad) from 57 countries, who
covered 570,000 square metres of exhibition space. Over 530,000
visitors from 200 countries visited the fair, setting a new
attendance record in the process.
This year the organization is expecting over 3,400 exhibitors and
more than half a million visitors. Cranes rising high into the sky
and gigantic machinery - that’s the familiar and exciting skyline
of bauma. But in the shade of all the XXL lifting gear and
heavyweight mining machinery, this world-leading trade fair has
many, much smaller, but equally innovative products and solutions to
interest trade visitors.

versatile, offering it with a unique hydraulic boom change system, so
changing booms will only take less than a minute.
Very handy when you know it's not only High Reach Booms that are
available. One machine can be converted into more than ten other kind
of machines in only minutes, making you money because you don't have
to buy them all, and bring them all to the jobside. The message here

thinks BIG at Bauma. Emphasizing long term confidence in the market,
visitors to this year’s Bauma 2016 exhibition in Munich
will see Volvo Construction Equipment unveil several new flagship
products - including the largest machines the company has ever made. While
much of the company’s presence at Bauma 2016 is still a
closely-guarded secret what is abundantly clear is the confidence with
which the company is continuing to develop innovative, productive
machines that help customers thrive in today’s ultra-competitive
business. In fact, productivity is the key message of the show, under
the banner of ‘Building Tomorrow’ alongside customers.
At Bauma 2016 we can expect a machine out of its new E-series HRD
line-up. But the biggest news is the EC 950E excavator. We have seen
the field-follow machine for many years and Bauma 2016 is likely going
to be the place were Volvo will officially unveil
For many years the EC700 was the biggest machine available, but for
some customers, especially for mining, this machine was considered too
light. It is likely that this EC 950E will be a great carrier as HRD
machine, offering a machine that can extend its HRD line-up to 40-45m.

Liebherr Group is showcasing many new and further developed products
from every area of its extensive range of construction machines,
mobile and crawler cranes, material handling technology, mining, as
well as components, on a total display area of more than 14,000 m².
2015 was the place were Liebherr revealed its first of many new HRD
excavators. The new R960 Demolition was put on display there. This
R 960 Demolition crawler excavator supersedes the previous model, the
R 954 C Demolition, and provides working heights of up to 33m. With
the R 960, tool attachments with a weight of up to 3.5 tonnes can be
used and a high break-out force can be achieved. What is more,
increased tool weights with greater reach enhances productivity.
in the 90 tonnes R 960’s standard equipment is the Liebherr Demolition
Control System (LDC), which won the innovation award at Intermat 2015.
The system gives the operator information about the precise position
of the demolition tool and thereby safeguards the stability of the
excavator. The position of the tool is displayed in colour and in real
time on the touchscreen, along with the tilt angle of the machine.
This provides the operator with real-time information about what
movements are permitted. In this way, it is possible to minimize the
probability of human error impairing the stability of the machine.
